It is time for a serious change on the Hacienda La Puente School Board and I want to help make this happen. We have a community of diverse cultures and our current School Board is NOT RESPECTING this diversity. The Board is not making decisions that give equal opportunity to all students. I will work toward equal representation for our diverse community and build a bridge to all our people. I am committed to FAIRNESS for all students.
We need more American history classes being taught so our children will understand why we are so very proud of our country and why people come to our land for political freedom. We have been the beacon of light to many people around the world. We are proud of our patriotism and we don’t want anyone threatening our freedom.
I have learned to live my life with the values of honesty, integrity, respect, loyalty and personal courage. MOST OF ALL RESPECT. During my 27 years in the corporate design management world, I was known for these attributes. I will bring these same MUCH NEEDED values to the School Board.
I will support educators who show a continued COMMITMENT to achieving educational excellence, listening to and RESPECTING the concerns of parents, and putting students first, not by class, economic difference, cultural or ethnic background – but as our future.
I have lived in our community for 38 years and my children ATTENDED Hillgrove Elementary, Orange Grove Middle School and Los Altos High School. I am proud to say that our home was where the local students were welcome to congregate to talk, do homework or play. Often I played the role of counselor as the kids felt safe to discuss their problems with me and together we found positive solutions. The School Board now needs a strong balanced person who will compassionately listen to the concerns of ALL those in the community. Together we can find positive solutions.
